![]() There's no doubt. Every one of us here has a purpose--one, maybe many. We are all here at this time, and this place, for a reason. Whoever you are, whatever you do, you are important! Whether you are wealthy or struggling, able-bodied or disabled, mentally ill or well, who you are matters. If you are unemployed, president of a corporation, an artist--you are important! Regardless of profession, memberships and the roles you take on you are a Spirit being, first and foremost, walking around in a human body to give and receive love, learn lessons, and hopefully, to grow and advance spiritually. Are you following the unique path meant for you/your Spirit, and, you may wonder, how do you know? This all starts with learning to tune in to the nuances of your mind and body. The best way to get there is through meditation, but you can start by asking yourself a few questions: Most of the time, how do you feel at the end of the day? Happy? Like you've accomplished something? Satisfied? Or like you are running in circles? Unfulfilled? Empty? Depressed? Do you ask yourself, "Is this all there is?" When you tell someone about yourself, what kinds of words do you choose, and how do they make you feel? Do you make yourself a priority in your own life? Do you get to do things you truly enjoy on a regular basis that do NOT involve taking care of others? A simple question: Do you feel JOY in your life on a regular basis? Asking yourself these questions is a start on the journey Within. Remember the things you enjoyed as a child. Try to experience some of those things if possible. Make a point to do something just because it makes your heart sing, and do it regularly! Then, pay attention to how your body feels when you experience joy and what your overall sense of well-being is. This is the beginning to realizing your mind-body-spirit connection. When we do, say or think things not in line with our spirit selves, we don't feel good, and our bodies will often rebel. Yes, we have to do things to "pay the bills". But if you really don't like what you are doing for work, take the time to nurture yourself and do things you enjoy outside of work as much as you can. You may just discover a new hobby or, perhaps, a new career, closer in line with your spirit! ~ Heather
